Weight & Mind
Therapy for the Mind Behind Every Weight-Loss Journey
Weight loss changes your body. It doesn't automatically change your mind.
Medication and surgery can shift your biology, but the thoughts, emotions, and habits that shaped your relationship with food and your body for years don't disappear along with the weight. They can show up as anxiety about regain, old eating patterns returning, grief for who you used to be, or a body that's changed faster than your sense of self has caught up.
Weight & Mind exists for that part of the process, the part medication and surgery were never designed to treat.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience in the mental health field, with specialized experience in eating disorders, body image, and behavior change.
That clinical background shapes how I approach this work. This isn't a weight-loss program or coaching. It's therapy focused on the psychological and behavioral complexity that can come with changing your body and your relationship with food.
I'm licensed to provide therapy to clients located in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, and Washington, DC.
Who I Help
Wherever you are in your journey, there's a path for you.
Starting or considering a GLP-1
Currently on a GLP-1 or after bariatric surgery
Pursuing change without medication or surgery
Build the emotional and behavioral foundation before or alongside medication, so you're addressing the patterns underneath, not just changes in appetite.
Work through the identity, body image, and relationship shifts that can come with significant physical change, while building coping strategies that don't depend on medication or surgery alone.
Work directly on emotional eating, habits, and self-image patterns using structured, evidence-based therapy rather than relying on willpower alone.
One Focused Session. A Plan You Actually Leave With.
I offer therapy through a structured Behavioral Intensive rather than traditional open-ended weekly sessions.
This isn't about resolving everything in one afternoon. It's about understanding what's driving the pattern you're stuck in, what's keeping it in place, and what needs to change, then building a personalized behavioral plan around what we uncover.
Each Intensive includes:
A focused three-hour therapy session, with four hours reserved so we have room if we need additional time
A personalized behavioral formulation based on our work together
A customized written report with findings and recommendations, delivered within seven days
A Weight & Mind workbook with self-monitoring exercises, worksheets, and behavioral strategies to put your plan into practice
Two 30-minute follow-up therapy sessions to check your progress, work through challenges, and adjust the plan as needed
You leave with a clearer understanding of what's driving your patterns and a personalized plan for what to do next.
An Evidence-Based, Whole-Person Approach
I draw from several evidence-based approaches within each Intensive, depending on what you need:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Identifying and changing thought patterns that contribute to emotional eating, self-criticism, and all-or-nothing thinking.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Building a relationship with food and your body that is guided by your values rather than avoidance of difficult thoughts or feelings.
Motivational Interviewing: Strengthening your own motivation and confidence for meaningful, sustainable change.
Mindfulness-Based Techniques: Building awareness of hunger, fullness, emotions, and triggers without judgment.
Nervous System Regulation: Building awareness of your body's stress responses and using practical strategies to regulate emotions, urges, and reactions without automatically turning to old coping patterns.
Gut-Brain Connection Psychoeducation: Understanding how appetite, cravings, mood, and the body interact, helping take shame out of patterns that were never simply about willpower.
It's focused, practical work on the specific psychological and behavioral patterns keeping you stuck, grounded in clinical training and evidence-based care.
The Intensive model isn't the right fit for everyone. It's designed for adults who are stable, functioning, and ready to do focused, structured therapeutic work.
It is not designed for individuals experiencing a severe or medically unstable eating disorder, acute psychiatric symptoms, active safety concerns or suicidal ideation, or those who need ongoing weekly therapeutic support.
If the Intensive isn't the appropriate fit for your needs, I'll let you know directly and, when possible, point you toward a provider or level of care that may be better suited to you.

Your Behavioral Intensive
Your Included Follow-Ups
Start by reaching out and sharing a little about what you're looking for help with. I'll follow up personally to learn more and send you an intake form so I can determine whether the Behavioral Intensive is appropriate for your needs.
If we're a good fit, we'll move forward with scheduling your Intensive.
We'll meet for a focused three-hour therapy session. I ask you to reserve four hours so we have additional time if we need it and don't have to rush the work.
During the Intensive, we'll identify the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns contributing to the concern that brought you in and begin building a plan for moving forward.
Within seven days, you'll receive your personalized written report with findings and recommendations, along with your Weight & Mind workbook. Your workbook will include self-monitoring exercises, worksheets, and behavioral strategies based on the work we did together.
Your Intensive includes two 30-minute follow-up therapy sessions. We'll use this time to check your progress, talk through what's working and what's getting in the way, and make adjustments as you begin putting your plan into practice.

Additional Support, If Needed
If you'd like continued support after your two included follow-ups, you can schedule additional 30-minute individual therapy sessions as needed.
A Changed Body Is
Only Part of The Journey
The rest of it happens in how you think, cope, eat, and see yourself. That's the work we'll do together in a focused Intensive built around you.
Ready to see if this is the right fit? Reach out and tell me a little about what you're navigating. I'll follow up personally with the next step.
